"Traveling to Zanzibar was so wonderful. My husband traveled to Zanzibar and it was amazing. The local people are so wonderful and the beaches are nice and peaceful. The tours and safaris were good value for money and well organised. We really enjoyed our trip and we will keep coming back.

Is Swimming Risky in Zanzibar?

Swimming is extremely safe in Zanzibar. The Indian Ocean is a warm body of water with gentle waves. In Zanzibar, scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities.

Zanzibar Snorkeling

Many of Zanzibar’s beaches are ideal for swimming, though conditions differ depending on the season. Depending on the tides, seaweed can be found in the water, particularly along the South Coast. Sea urchins can be found even in the shallows (at low tide). When walking, wear diving boots and proceed with caution.

Can You See Sharks In Zanzibar?

Zanzibar is home to some harmless coral sharks. There is also Mafia Island, where you can go shark diving. Sharks are not endangered, and swimming and diving with them pose no danger. Finally, while great white sharks have been spotted in deep waters on occasion, no shark attacks have been reported.

Is It Safe To Venture Out At Night in Zanzibar?

To be on the safe side, the answer is emphatically no. Muggings and robberies do occur, especially late at night in dark alleyways. Avoid going out late alone at night.

Zanzibar Is A Secure Location

The laws are the same as they are in other major cities around the world. Wear no flashy jewelry and keep your valuables in a safe at the hotel.  Maintain your wits and never disclose your address to anyone. You should be fine wandering around on your own during the day, but be vigilant.

One of the best reasons to visit Zanzibar is for world-class diving (a water lover’s paradise)

Zanzibar Holidays Pinetown has some of the world’s most beautiful diving sites and warmest waters. It is no surprise that Zanzibar is a popular diving and snorkeling spot. There are reef dives accessible from both the shore and by boat. One of the most popular Zanzibar vacation activities is island hopping diving trips!

Zanzibar Holidays Pinetown has a lot to offer outdoor water enthusiasts, from deep-sea fishing and scuba diving to traditional dhow sailing and kayaking. Try windsurfing, water skiing, kiteboarding, or  dive hopping while snorkeling and swimming among the coral.

In Tanzania, The Jozani Private Game Reserve Is A Forest Reserve

The Game Reserve, which is home to the endangered Red Colobus Monkeys, one of Africa’s rarest primates, is another compelling reason to visit Zanzibar. These monkeys are native to and are slowly making their way back from the brink of extinction thanks to conservation efforts. The mature forests of Jozani are part of the island’s one and only National Park, which is home to hundreds of different butterflies, birds, and other fascinating plants and animals.

The Zanzibar Museum (located 1km from the Jozani Private Game Reserve) is a community environmental project that has taught community members how to farm butterflies in a sustainable manner. By operating one of Africa’s largest butterfly sanctuaries and exporting butterfly pupae, the project aims to generate income for locals while also conserving the local forest. Visitors will be led by one of the knowledgeable guides through the lush, netted gardens, where hundreds of butterflies, many of which are native to Zanzibar, fly freely.

Why Should You Vacation In Zanzibar for Beach, Marine, Cultural, and Historical Purposes?

Zanzibar is the best destination in Tanzania for exceptional cultural, exploratory, historical, and eco-tourism experiences. It is located in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Tanzania. It appears to have everything that a like-minded tourist would want. It has an interesting ethnic history that reflects the numerous tourists who have passed through over the centuries. Persians, Indians, Europeans, Arabs, and even a few Chinese have all left their mark on the city’s architecture, adding to its enchantment. Many empires rose and fell, leaving behind ruins and other relics, but the blood of the average Zanzibarer bears the imprint of their existence.

Along with strong Xhosa influences, today’s Zanzibar is unique in every way, from semantics to cuisine, spices and fruit, furniture types, fabrics, the beautiful hand-made artifacts and jewelry available in their duka shops, and, of course, the natural beauty that sets it apart from every other African seaside destination. When you think of Zanzibar, you think of its beautiful waters with their snow-white sands, the sea, and the lush tropical vegetation that casts a spell of beauty and tranquillity.

Perhaps more appealing is the thriving marine life beneath the sea’s surface, or the natural beauty of the Forest Reserve, which is home to red colobus monkeys and other animals. With African Mecca, you can immerse yourself in the wonder and serenity of Zanzibar and the rest of the breathtakingly beautiful archipelago.

Before You Depart, Ensure That You Have Adequate Travel Insurance

Accidents happen even in a beautiful place like Zanzibar, so Zanzibar Holidays Pinetown recommends purchasing good travel insurance before you leave. Missed flights, misplaced luggage, stolen travel equipment, an accident at your destination, and other possibilities exist. These are just a few scenarios that could happen to anyone. It is always a good idea to have good travel insurance for peace of mind and to be covered in case of any of these mishaps or if you require medical attention while travelling. Remember that Zanzibar is a small island with limited resources. In the event of a major accident, you will require expensive medical attention.
